The Cuteness That Is F-Pants

Filed under: Bunny Hugger — Maika Salvado daRocha @ 2:09 PM

Hello, my cute-loving friends,

I just wanted to post a few pics of Frankie Pants, my best friend EVAR.

Here’s F-Pants playing peek-a-boo behind his cardboard house.

Can you see the bunny? Show me the bunny!

Here’s F-Pants just hangin’ out.

F-Pants. Candid.

Here’s F-Pants catchin’ some ZZZZZs behind his house.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

And, finally, F-Pants’s pants!

Bunny Butt!

Yes, I have to say that I’m the luckiest person on Earth to be able to live with the awesomeness in bunny form that is Frankie. Even though he loves to give bities and run over my head again and again in the middle of the night, I have no complaints. I’d rather live with him than anyone else!  Cuteness abounds where Frankie bounds!

Bunday Featured Bunny: Montel

Filed under: Bunny Hugger — Maika Salvado daRocha @ 4:18 PM
This is Montel, who is just so beautiful that I needed to post him up here post-haste! He looks like a stuffed bunny in terms of the cuteness of his face, but his fur looks so silky and wonderful that I just itch to pet him and hold him and give him kisses, which I’m sure he would LOVE.
This is what the folks at SaveABunny have reported on his behalf:

Don’t you just love me!

Hi. My name is Montel. I am a very handsome, sometimes mellow neutered guy. Before I arrived at SaveABunny I spent my time all alone and neglected in an outside hutch for three years. It was pretty quiet out there all by myself, so I learned to listen really well.

Tell me your stories and your secrets. I might fall asleep or take a nap while you’re talking, ’cause I do enjoy a good snooze, but I’m here for you!

During all that time alone in my little hutch outside, I kept my hopes up that someday people would adopt me, pamper as an indoor house bunny and member of their family. Will you help my wish come true?

Oh, one other small wish, I’d prefer to live in a quiet home with adults. See you soon I hope!

I’m currently being housed at SaveABunny waiting to be adopted.
Does it not just break your heart (and incense you) that some idiot left a sweet little guy like this all alone in a hutch for three years? If you have a bunny in a hutch, bring him indoors. Get him spayed/neutered (if she’s a girl, of course, do the appropriate thing) and bring her indoors. It’s cruel to keep them outside. Bunnies should be part of the family. Ours live indoors with us, and we’d never think to leave them outside to the elements. I wish I could bring this sweetum home! Our sweet girl Sophie might like a friend, but she’s so skittish that we’re really having a problem deciding whether she wants one or would prefer to be alone. She had some serious problems in her past and was traumatized by other bunnies, and she runs away from us. But she’s right next door to two of the gentlest bunnies ever, Nibbles and Melville, and she’s still part of our family, and we love her totally, no matter how distant she wants to be. As long as she feels safe and comfortable, we want her to be happy. That’s the only thing that counts. It’s the only thing that should count since these innocent little beings count on us for everything. So some kindhearted adult please provide Montel with a nice, quiet home and a loving heart, and above all, do not abandon him out in a hutch again! Don’t make me come over there with a big stick, ’cause I will!

Weekly Bunday Post: Veterinary Internship Opportunity

Hello, my growing mystic crewe of motley invaders,

My Bunday post is a little late this week. For May’s activities over at SaveABunny, that excellent bunny no-kill sanctuary where all too few lucky bunnies go (but too many for the overworked and understaffed founder, Marcy Schaaf, to handle with her small cadre of selfless volunteers), pop by their site at www.saveabunny.org. And, of course, to see pics of adorable bunnies, go there, too.

Also, I have had over 200 hits already, and, since I do not even have 4 friends, some of them must be by people I don’t know. If any of you out there is a veterinarian, or work in a veterinary office, or are a vet tech, or are skilled in that way, and are knowledgeable about bunnies, SaveABunny is offering internship or volunteer opportunities. I don’t have all the details yet in terms of hours, days, etc., but that is because I am behind on my workload. I have asked Marcy to send me the specifics so that I can post it on various sites around the area, which is Marin County, Mill Valley, to be specific. If you need credits for school, practical hours, perhaps, that might be also something you can work out with Marcy. I’m not sure how that works, but if you are interested in volunteering there, either as a vet tech (or at all, in general), feel free to contact me here, at my e-mail address at maika_shen88@yahoo.com, or at SaveABunny, at the link above or at the side of the page.

If you know anyone who lives around Mill Valley and has bunny and veterinary experience and who might be interested in volunteering, please pass this information on to him or her! I can speak from experience that it is a wonderful shelter to work for, and if I lived closer and were not so scared of the drive, I would definitely be there, helping to groom bunnies. It is why I am doing all this work for them from my computer, though, as well! It is well worth it, and I cannot tell you how absolutely wonderful and satisfying it is to be surrounded by all those bunnies. If I could afford to live down there (or if Marcy would just let me move into her house with her and her bunnies!) I’d totally volunteer all the time! It may be viewed as volunteer work and an act of kindness, but the person working with the bunnies would be the one to benefit, believe me. It’s a wonderful thing, to be with all those bunnies.

So please spread the word, and meanwhile, as soon as I find out the details of time, days, level of experience, I will post them! Vive les lapins!

Pom Pom, Today’s Featured Bunny

Hello, fellow pen lovers,
As you know, I work with SaveABunny, an excellent no-kill bunny sanctuary located in Mill Valley, CA. I know Marcy Schaaf, the founder, personally, and I can absolutely vouch for the excellent care and treatment these lucky bunnies get because I have occasionally been the one to administer such care and treatment in the form of grooming and cleaning cages and such.
I try to feature a bunny –I’m going to try to do it once a week, but this blog is already getting bigger than I can manage; however, this is important for the sake of the bunnies, so perhaps I will let other things lapse for their sake.
Anyway, today’s special little bunny is Pom Pom, and this is what SaveABunny has to say about her, the cutie pants:

My name is PomPom. Yes, I know I’m very cute and little. I’m a netherland dwarf. I may be tiny, but I think I’m a big bunny. So, please respect my cage space. I expect at least a proper greeting before your enter my space. It is MY room, you know. I gentle stroke on the top of my head is just the thing! I prefer an experience bunny guardian who does not mind a strong-willed feisty bunny. I’m easy to hold when I’m not in the mood to explore. I love being carried around in a softly lined basket when I’m ready to leave the comforts of my room. If you don’t mind me being the little boss, then I’m the bunny for you!

I’m currently being housed at a Foster Home waiting to be adopted.
To ask the excellent folks at SaveABunny a question about Pom Pom, please go to her page at
http://saveabunny.org/rabbit/pom-pom
To donate, please visit SaveABunny’s donation page here.
To donate in-kind, check out the SaveABunny wish list. Personally, I like donating from the wish list because it makes me happy to know that what I am buying will be delivered right to the pen or area or cage of a good little bunny, so I like choosing the items with that in mind.
If you’re man enough to love bunnies (and not many men are; too many are just too insecure about their masculinity. It takes a real man to love bunnies, and I should know; my real man has a bunny tattoo on his arm! Photos to come when I can catch him asleep with my camera.) Or, if you’re a woman who wants to see a hunka hunka burnin’ bunny lovin’, check out SaveABunny’s Real Men Love Bunnies videos! Link to it from their main page.
